Big Oak Ranch is located in Marion County, about 30 miles North of Longview near Lake O' The Pines in East Texas
From its inception, Big Oak Ranch specialized in bowhunting for trophy exotics. While we still offer bowhunting, the ranch is also open to gun hunts and weekend animal observation and photography excursions. Big Oak Ranch is owned by Gary and Judy Root who oversee the ranch and make sure that it is in top condition.
Big Oak is located in a heavy oak hardwood and pine forest which provides a challenging hunting experience. With 220 acres of rolling terrain and abundance of timber, the taking of a trophy exotic is a very rewarding experience. We have top quality ground and tower blinds with comfortable seating. Both corn and protein feeders are located throughout the ranch and are maintained year round.
Top quality exotics including Red Stag, Black Buck, Axis, Sika, Scimitar Oryx, Fallow as well as Aoudad, Newfoundland Ram, Corsican, Texas Dall, Catalina, Black Hawaiian Sheep and Mouflon are currently available at Big Oak Ranch. We will continue to have a large variety of animals and strive to provide the exotics that you want for your year-round hunting pleasure and trophy collection. If you have an interest in an exotic that is not mentioned, please let us know and we will try to provide it.
We are also working on an improved Whitetail population. We are introducing improved South Texas genetics and within a few years we hope to have some very impressive Whitetail.
Our Hunter's Cabin is fully furnished with a loaded kitchen, linens, towels and toiletries. All cabins are air conditioned and heated.
